Good Evening, the is Chet Huntely reporting. Tonight: Manhunt- "The Boston Murders"
This police car is patrolling an area of high-crime incidents in the city of Boston. In this area occurred two of the stranglings which have baffled and stunned Boston and its suburbs. Within a radius of ten miles one or more killers is the query of a man-hunt, which began in June and is continuing tonight.

The Boston Murders, so-called, have long since drwan beyond the interests of local residents and Sunday-supplement editors. National magazines, wire services and newspapers in other cities have covered the stories, sometimes in considerable detail.

Two of the killings occurred outside of Boston, and the number of victims that fits a "pattern" is open to some dispute. But at one time or another ten women were strangled and at least 8 cases remain open. The first slaying took place in the Back Bay area of Boston on June 14, 1962. The victim was Anna Slesers, a 56 year-old Latvian-born divorcé. Mrs. Slesers, a retired seamstress, had been strangled manually then the belt from her housecoat had been twisted about her neck. At 77 Gainborough Street Mrs. Slesers lived alone in a third floor apartment, her son Juris found her body.
