Project Main Details

Teacher Mrs pickslay
We're looking for voice-over actors to do the Mom/Mrs. Pickslay lines. This audition is for Mrs. Pickslay. She's a teacher in an inner city school. Her character is white, and she's animated.

There are two scenes below. In the first scene, the mother is disorganized (and unprepared) and Mrs. Pickslay is frustrated and distracted. In the second scene, she's calmer - by that point, we illustrate the "right" way to conduct a parent-teacher conference.

Script Details

Sample script for auditions below, please read for Mrs. Pickslay.
Scene 1:
LUKE: Mom, I need to go to the bathroom.

MOM: (to Luke) Then go!

LUKE: The door’s locked!

MRS. PICKSLAY: Actually, I think it might have something to do with our reading groups—he’s having trouble --

MOM: Reading? What’s this got to do with mean kids?

LUKE: (knocking on window) Mom, I’m cold.

MRS. PICKSLAY: Look, this doesn’t seem like the right time --

MOM: I just took a bus 45 minutes across town to have you tell me you this isn’t the right time?

Scene 2:
Calmer Mom/Mrs. Pickslay lines:

Mrs. Pickslay: I’m worried that Luke is having some trouble in class.

MOM: Yes, he and I talked about that. What have you seen happen?

Mrs. Pickslay: Well – He sometimes cries during reading class and I’m not sure why.
