The right to vote.
It’s a right that so many fought and died for.
But that right is taken from you the minute you're convicted of a felony in Virginia.
Today, more than 372,000 Virginians who've completed their sentences are disenfranchised this way.
It's the second-highest rate in America – and includes 1 in 5 African-Americans.
If you are a Virginian with a felony conviction, you must know that you can take back your vote.
There are 2 ways to do this.
If your conviction falls on the Governor’s list of “non-violent felonies”, you can register with the Secretary of the Commonwealth to automatically get your vote back.
If your conviction falls on the Governor’s list of “violent felonies”, you must wait 5 years and then submit an application. 80% of cases are approved.

If you’re one of the 372,000 Virginians who work, have families, pay taxes and have paid your debt to society, you should have a voice in our democracy.
So step forward, and take back your vote.
Please note that you should only use the script or your recording of it for auditioning purposes. The script is property, unless otherwise specified, of the voice seeker and it is protected by international copyright laws.
