“The Loser List” Audition Sides (Oct. ’10)

[We are playing with an idea of Richard Dreyfuss’s narration in “Stand By Me”: maybe a little nostalgia in its feel, but quite alive in its “real time” experience.]

It was all down hill from the day Danny Shine tried to remove his name from the loser list in the girl’s bathroom.

He got detention which put him right in the hands of a pack of mindless bullies,
who actually let him hang out with them when they learned he could draw.
Of course, all they wanted were cool tattoos and wild graffiti.

Who knew the whole thing would turn him into a juvenile delinquent; cause him to lose his best friends; and humiliate him in front of the entire school?

Maybe he really does belong on the Loser List.

Decide for yourself when you read THE LOSER LIST.

Look for it at your Scholastic Book Fair!
It will make you laugh out loud!
