Script Details

Script for auditions below.
This CSB animation shows the events of the eleven hours leading up to the explosion at the BP Texas City refinery on 23 March 2005.

Several units at the refinery had been shut down for extensive turnaround work. There were about one thousand contractors present at the refinery, plus BP personnel.

BP had placed work trailers in the vicinity of the processing equipment, for use by the contractors.

One of these trailers was a large office structure housing eleven offices and meeting rooms. The office trailers were used for meetings on a regular basis.

Although the trailers were situated near the isomerisation unit, the users were not informed that this unit was about to be started up. Start-up of processing equipment such as this is a potentially hazardous operation.

At a quarter past two in the morning of 23 March, the night-shift began filling raffinate into a 52-metre (170 foot) high splitter tower. The tower is used for distilling and separating flammable petroleum products.
Please note that you should only use the script or your recording of it for auditioning purposes. The script is property, unless otherwise specified, of the voice seeker and it is protected by international copyright laws.
