Project Main Details

Still trying to figure out, but definitely looking for a male voice that has much more punch and personality.

I am a documentary film student at UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism. I am doing a film on toxic waste dumping in Africa by a ship. The voice will be used for this project, a half hour documentary, which is also my Masters thesis.

Script Details

Please read a portion from the script below for auditions.
For the Dutch, this stench was intolerable. Within minutes, hundreds of emergency calls started coming in from residents.

But back in London at Trafigura, spending half a million dollar to recycle the waste was not an option. They then sent out a firm instruction to the captain of the Probo Koala:

“ Washing are to be kept onboard and shall be disposed off at next convenient opportunity. ”

The next convenient destination? Africa.

After Amsterdam, Trafigura found in Cote d’Ivoire what they called “an experienced subcontractor”: Compagnie Tommy.

But Tommy has no waste handling experience. The company license was only 10 days old.
Trafigura paid Tommy $25,000, 20 times less than the half million they could have paid in Europe.
According to Trafigura leaders, Tommy’s executive allegedly sent them this fax where he says the waste will be disposed off in a “place Properly prepared” outside the city called Akwedo, which is the city’s largest dump.

Between 10 pm and 3 in the morning most of the 500 tons of highly toxic chemicals such as hydrogen sulfide, mercaptans, mercaptides, sodium sulphide and dialkyl disulphide’s, have been dumped here.
