Script Details

Script provided by the Seeker:

The war is over but there are many who still suffer its effects. Yet, I know God is among us here in my homeland. My father told me once that when God can’t come personally he always sends an angel– and the angels he sent to save my family and me were those United Methodists who gave to Sierra Leone projects through The Advance.

We have the Kissy Hospital in Freetown – and it is now a real hospital, not a clinic. There is the limb fitting clinic and Mercy Hospital in Bo. Because Malaria is the number one killer disease in our country, the doctors and nurses provide not only medicines but health education to help prevent infection and this is helping to save lives.

Before the war, we had twelve “Operation Classroom” schools. Because of gifts through The Advance, a few of those schools have been able to reopen. I am a proud student of one of them - and my parents are very proud of me because I didn’t allow the poison of hate to destroy me like it did so many other young people in my country.
