Seeking Male Voices For Documentary Segment
We need a male actor to dub over a short section of a feature length documentary entitled My Perestroika for broadcast on PBS. We may have the talent come to our studio for recording so you should be based in New York.

The film follows five ordinary Russians living in extraordinary times — from their sheltered Soviet childhood, to the collapse of the Soviet Union during their teenage years, to the constantly shifting political landscape of post-Soviet Russia. Together, these childhood classmates paint a complex picture of the dreams and disillusionment of those raised behind the Iron Curtain.

One male voice would be for both Borya and Andrei, characters in the film, and the other male voice would be for an announcer. Borya and Andrei are speaking about their childhood. We would like the voiceover talent to replicate the tone and quality of the men in these pieces but do not have to sound exactly like them. As this is a dubbed English voice over, the original Russian voices will be heard at the beginning and the end of each bit, and the emotions are conveyed pretty clearly on the video. ************************* password: voice123

Script Details

Script for auditions below.
Audition Script for 2 male voices:

Borya: If you look at newsreels from the early 80s, they talk about the great successes building Socialism. Though by that time, no one really cared. But we were still kids and in school, they were trying to turn us into upstanding citizens of Soviet society.

Yeah sure, Lenin, the Party, the Pioneers... so you wore a red kerchief on your neck... But you think we were thinking about Lenin everyday? Of course not.
