Intro Copy:
How rainfall affects you depends on which watershed you live in. A watershed is an area in which water drains into a common point, usually a stream, river or lake. Rain that falls in each watershed drains only through that watershed. There are six watersheds in Bexar County – Medina River, Medio Creek, Leon Creek, Upper San Antonio River, Salado Creek and Cibolo Creek. Do you know which watershed you live in? From the perspective of a raindrop, let’s drop in and see what happens to floodwater in the Salado Creek and Upper San Antonio River watersheds. We’ll see how some flood control structures work, and what might happen without them.
