Project Main Details

Safe Handling of Ha
This is a project to develop multiple modules of training materials.
These materials will be delivered in classrooms and via closed Intranet. Students learn how to identify hazardous materials, how to handle them, and how to mitigate spills.
Scripts will be divided among actors, and up to four actors will be selected.
Script volume is rather high, with each actor reading 5-10 minutes in four different scripts (up to 40 minutes total).
Sessions will be unsupervised, but we'll request a short phone meeting before you record to discuss nomenclature. Please plan for one session for minor revisions after the original recording.
Delivery is of final voice tracks, via FTP or other. No music or SFX requested.
Fee is per actor.

So, what is a hazardous material or a HAZMAT item? A HAZMAT item is any substance that has a human health hazard associated with it, or poses a risk to the health or safety of a soldier, or to the environment.
What are some of the ways that hazardous materials can be dangerous? Hazardous materials contain chemicals that may not be compatible with each other, because they can react violently if mixed.
The SOP in your manual describes these characteristics in a little more detail. There may be certain vocabularies in these descriptions that you are not familiar with, so here is a brief explanation of some of the more common terms.
Ignitable materials are materials that can easily catch fire. do not want to store a flammable material next to something that catches fire, like wood, cloth, heat or paper.
Reactive materials are unstable and may explode when exposed to certain conditions. Examples include peroxide forming chemicals, MRE heaters, lithium batteries, and certain types of ammunition.
Materials that are corrosive have a very low pH (acidic) or a very high pH (basic). Corrosive materials can burn skin or decompose metals.
Oxidizers react with almost everything, and as such should be separated out all by themselves and never stored next to any other materials. Examples of oxidizers are hydrogen peroxide, chlorine, nitric acid, and calcium hypochlorite.
Please note that you should only use the script or your recording of it for auditioning purposes. The script is property, unless otherwise specified, of the voice seeker and it is protected by international copyright laws.
