Script Details

professional, friendly, approachable and positive
When we go to the moon or mars, what are we looking for? Water!
Why? Because water is life.
From space, earth is the blue planet - because of water.
To understand how unique it is, we must appreciate the global “water cycle.”
The water cycle begins with rain, which feeds small streams, then large rivers…
… and eventually flows to the ocean.
Along the way, we capture it.
And we use this water in our communities for our most basic needs: drinking, washing, and refreshing ourselves.
As well as for commercial, industrial, and irrigation uses.
When Doctors were asked “What is the most important medical advance in the 20th century?”, Their answer was water treatment and improved sanitation.
All the water in the water used indoors in the South Bay comes to the **************************************************.
The Plant cleans and treats the water, and returns it to the Bay.
The Plant protects the South San Francisco Bay.
Before the plant was built in 1956, the Bay used to be very polluted and changed color with the different canning seasons.
Today, we treat water at this site through a number of advanced wastewater treatment processes that imitate nature to protect the public health and support the sensitive aquatic habitat and wildlife that lives here.
Some of the water is treated a little more and returned to businesses as recycled water.
For 53 years, the Plant has cleaned the water, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, over 100 million gallons per day - the size of a small river..
