Project Main Details
We've done this in English and you should watch the English version and try as best you can to match the tone and delivery of the voices but in Spanish.
**Talent must be able to translate from English to Spanish.
We're going for humor. These "talking babies" intro and outro a number of instructional videos designed for our Smarter Happier Baby Program (SHB) - a program developed by the LENA Research Foundation.

And one more important note from my editor: “I prefer a high quality file, like an AIFF or a WAV, and they can send it however is most convenient, like FTP, Dropbox, YouSendIt, whatever works well for them.” [For Final Product] 2013-04-11 14:25:26 GMT 2013-05-10 14:00:00 (GMT -05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada) Yes (click here to learn more about ) Closed 0 0 0 direct invitation(s) have been sent by the voice seeker resulting in 0 audition(s) and/or proposal(s) so far. You'll notice in the English version video that one of the kids has a kind of rough, tough-guy, raspy voice. It's pretty funny.
The blond kid is a pretty straight-forward and deadpan. The girl is the same, perhaps a bit sarcastic.
Again, humor is what we're going for so please feel free to ad-lib a little. Use the script as your guide - start with the line from the script and then ad-lib a little in you want.
These are supposed to be funny. Your Spanish version should go for same tone and delivery – or better ad libs if you want to.
Ideally, we’d get the following from you:
1) One straight read. Just the script as written.
2) One ad-lib version. Use the script as your guide and starting point for each line but feel free to ad-lib all you want, although the shorter the better.
-I love deadpan reads.
-I love some of the funny “asides” some did in the English auditions.
-I like some of the meta stuff, like the baby’s aware that this is kinda weird.
-I love the short attention span of babies and them just thinking about what babies think about: food, poop, food, sleep, ball.
-And this is probably the most important: I love the angle that, hello, this is pretty basic stuff, mom and dad. I mean, “Read books everyday?!” C’mom. Like that’s hard?”
Thanks very much. OPENING:
Hello and welcome to the Smarter Happier Baby program. I will be your guide…
Wait, he’ll be your guide? I thought I was.
No, I’ll be your guide.
Umm, “hello?” I will be your guide, okay?
Happier Baby Smarter program. (then) Lemme do that again: Smarter Happier Baby program.
This first video’s going to lay down some heavy stuff.
We’re gonna give ya a little (finger-gun click, click) “background info.”
Hit ya with a little “research.”
Introduce you to cool new lingo, like “Conversational Turns” or…
(air quotes or “wink, wink, finger gun, tongue click, click) “Turns” for those in the know.
You’re going to learn about LENA.
The LENA Research Foundation.
(new thought, upbeat)
Now then, you’re going to see two nice ladies in the video.
And a guy in a beard!
Beards are cool.
The main thing to remember is that the first three years is the most important time for a baby’s brain development.
The first 3 years are critical!!!
And that parents can make a huuuuuugggge difference.
It’s all about the parents, man.
The more parents talk to me, the higher my I.Q.
It’s a fact, jack. Deal with it.
I.Q. is uh…you know…Let’s just say it’s important.
The more you talk to me now, the better I’ll do in school.
And in life.
So I can get a good job.
Most importantly, when I grow up, I won’t have to live in your basement.
And isn’t that why we’re all here?
“Narrate Your Day.”
In other words, Talk to me. As much as you can.
Ask me questions. I’ll babble back.
Just pretend you understand.
We’ll both pretend.
What can I say? I like the chit-chat.
So what have we learned here today?
TV bad. Talking good.
It’s all about talking to your baby.
It’s the back-n-forth that I like.
Yeah, the back-n-forth. I can actually feel my brain developing. It’s….mind blowing!
You just blew my mind with that!
In conclusion, “Narrate Your Day,” OK? I like it.
Narrate Your Day. That’s all for today!
Hey that rhymes.
Whoa. That like rhymes.
Uh, yeah, I know. I planned it.
