Project Main Details

Richmond Robins Documentary
One of our commercial media clients at our company, is working with us to produce a mini documentary. The client is the University of Richmond (Virginia) and the doc is about one of their major donors / founders of the school, E. Claiborne Robins (inventor of Robitussin, Chapstick, etc.).

We’re getting down to the final stages, which means now it’s time to find a narrator for the VOs. In discussing many options, the clients are very interested in hiring someone whose tone, inflection, moral standing, and genuine charm are the perfect fit for the piece. Think, perfect Southern gentleman.

Use of this video would be for internal University use: given to major donors, students, faculty, etc. and possibly run on the internal University of Richmond t.v. network. No commercial use or broadcast is planned.

Only submissions including the posted spec. lines will be reviewed.

Script Details

**NOTE: Claiborne is pronounced CLAY-BURN**
Sample script provided for auditions:

VO 8/9: During the 1960’s serious financial needs began to emerge. Academic programs were starving, building maintenance was being delayed, and faculty salaries were no where near competitive. The outlook for the school became dire. At one point, it was suggested that without a miracle the University of Richmond might cease to exist.

VO5: By 1945, the Great Depression and World War Two were over, and the demand for pharmaceuticals was on the rise. The company grew significantly, in large part because of Claiborne’s (pronouned: Clay-burn) keen eye for talent and developing his most valued resource—the loyal force of A. H. Robins employees.

VO13: Known to many at the University as “the prince of philanthropy.” It was only fitting that in 1999 a statue of Claiborne Robins was placed in the center of campus, where all who walked these grounds could become acquainted with the man who helped lead the University of Richmond into its remarkable future.
Please note that you should only use the script or your recording of it for auditioning purposes. The script is property, unless otherwise specified, of the voice seeker and it is protected by international copyright laws.
