175 MPH, most residents evacuated to shelters, friends’ homes,
apartments and hotel rooms in nearby cities. At nightfall, the entire
region was plunged into complete darkness and for many, it was the

October of 2007 saw a series wildfires burning across Southern
California, consuming property and destroying over 500,000 acres of
land from Santa Barbara to the US-MEXICO border. As people fled their
homes firefighters bravely worked night and day to contain the blaze.
