We need to create a French language narration track of each show derived from the shooting script, to be read by a single narrator who could preferably modulate their voice a bit to represent key characters speaking.
Please submit a short sample of your work in French. We're looking for examples of different character voices primarily.
This is a Union show through ACTRA in Canada, although the majority of the actors are aboriginal and non-union, paying work permit fees.
The ACTRA scale for each performance is $408.50 plus another 105% use fee, entitling the producer to 5 years broadcast use. Work permit fees and ACTRA fees will be deducted if applicable.
Example:
One four hour session for one episode:
$408.50 x 205% = $837.43 gross fees, less ACTRA work permit fee of $260, less 3% Union benefits charge of $25.13 = $552.30 net to the performer per episode for the voice work*, the translation of the scripts is negotiable. (Recording of the aboriginal language narration took approximately 2 hours per show.)
*Note if you are an ACTRA performer you would only pay union dues and admin fees resulting in a higher payment per episode: $795.55.
