Script Details

Please choose a portion of the script below for auditions. The delivery should be confident, but not overly theatrical.
“I don’t trust the way it moves,” Gareth tells his co-worker on The Office, after finding his stapler encased in a mold of Jell-O. “I don’t know,” admits a cast member of You Can’t Do That on Television, triggering a bucket of lime Jell-O brand gelatin, mixed with oatmeal and baby shampoo, to fall on her head. A potentially frightening encounter with alterity – and with the limits of understanding – is neutralized through comedic affect, glossing suspicions about foul origins and paranormal properties with a wiggle, with a jiggle, with a spokesman voted, by one Ford consumer poll, as the third most popular figure in existence, after God and Cronkite. To cite Cosby as the longest running brand spokesperson in the history of the world is not simply to add another one-of-a-kind to Jell-O’s one-hundred-plus year success story, but to suggest the ongoing necessity of masking its unsavory bits behind the wide grin of fun.
Please note that you should only use the script or your recording of it for auditioning purposes. The script is property, unless otherwise specified, of the voice seeker and it is protected by international copyright laws.
