Project Main Details

Preschool Teacher course
Series of online programs to provide specific training and motivation to pre-school teachers -- to get them to focus every moment of every day on the goal of helping their pre-school students develop language and literacy skills. Learning these skills while still in pre-school, these kids have a better chance of reading at appropriate grade level by the time they reach third grade.

Narrators should be warm, conversational, approachable. Do not sound lecture-ish or detached. If you have a Southern accent, let it come across (Atlanta, GA, USA).

The final project will be approximately 16-20 half-hour modules, to be produced over the next year and a half.

You’ve got a great opportunity to help children fall in love with words and language by setting up your book area with care.

Discover some important tips about this by grabbing the lower right corner of this flipbook with your mouse pointer and turning it like a page, or by simply clicking the orange “advance” arrow in the upper right corner.

Make your book area inviting. Use an area rug and furniture that is comfortable, and different from the furniture found elsewhere in your room.

Display books with their covers facing out, and make sure they are visible from outside the book area. Use baskets or crates for additional books. Define them by theme.

Variety is important – both the type of book, and difficulty level. Include stories, A-B-C, concept and information books, poetry, nursery rhymes, predictable texts and quality children’s magazines. Also, use this area to display books you’ve made in class.

Encourage sharing. Stuffed animals can be the perfect audience when a child reads a book aloud. Equipment for listening to recorded stories allows two or more children to listen at the same time, and will appeal to many children.

Encourage reenactment of familiar stories by including story-telling props, like puppets, or a felt board with felt figures.
Please note that you should only use the script or your recording of it for auditioning purposes. The script is property, unless otherwise specified, of the voice seeker and it is protected by international copyright laws.
