Positive about equality and diversity ZD131805
This is for an internal training package. The subject matter concerns the nine protected characteristics named in the Equality Act 2010. The voice over will be embedded into an e-authoring product called Articulate Storyline and is aimed at making the content intesting, but also reaching people who may have reading difficulties or visual impairment. As it it is part of a national project the content will open to other users to access under the Creative Commons copyright rules.
We require an urgent turnaround and will need the completed work finished by 5pm Wednesday 18th July 2014.

John work at the college as an exam invigilator and was recently in a staff meeting where a colleague said that it wouldn’t be a problem getting extra support as this role is very popular with “Old People”.
Q.) Is it OK to refer to someone as an “Old Person”
YES (click Box) NO (click Box)
Feedback: It is not acceptable to use really. Better terms would be “Older Person” or “Older People”. The word “old” carries connotations of being worn out or of little further user.
What does discrimination really boil down to in today’s world?
“Just because I am Italian, I don’t just eat pasta”
“There’s a difference between looking at someone and seeing them”
“Don’t assume who I am by my last name”
“My hair does not define me”
“I don’t eat rice for dinner every night”
“I forgot what you said, but will never forget how you made me feel”
