This is a very interesting and exciting political season. The company encourages all employees to be responsible citizens and participate actively in the political process on a personal basis if you choose to. Personal political activity might include supporting and contributing to candidates and political parties, volunteering personal time to a political candidate or campaign, or even seeking public office oneself.
The company will not try to control, direct or influence any employee’s political activities or affiliations. At the same time, however, company policy limits political activities in the workplace to avoid undue distraction and to maintain compliance with federal, state and local campaign-finance laws. Employees engaging in political activities must do so –
1. As private citizens and not as representatives of the company;
2. At times other than during paid working hours; and
3. Without using company workplaces, equipment or other resources for political purposes.
