Project Main Details

People of Michilimackinac redux
We're looking for two people, each of whom will record one approximately 15-20 second clip for a touchscreen project going into a museum.

You will be representing a person from the 1760s who lived in Northern Michigan. The client requests that the male voice (Claude) record the script using a light French accent. The female voice (Marie) is an Odawa Native American. We need a very slight hint of a Native American accent, which comes through more in the phrasing and inflection in in your voice.

The scripts below are a couple of sentences for each character.

PLEASE SPECIFY in your audition which role you are reading for, and please take note of the age range and gender for each part.

Thanks! I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

Now that the ice is gone from the lakes, I can send my furs to Montreal. I’ve been successful this winter, and I hope I can get a good price. Winter has also brought me something much more valuable, my wife Marie.

o Marie (early 20s)
I must still get used to my new name, but I am happy the black robe taught me enough to be baptized into Christ’s holy church. Without it I could not have married my husband. I met him when he came to my village to trade with my father. Soon we will move to a fine house inside the fort, and maybe start a family.
Please note that you should only use the script or your recording of it for auditioning purposes. The script is property, unless otherwise specified, of the voice seeker and it is protected by international copyright laws.
