Project Main Details
Our player character, Philip, has journeyed into a research base deep beneath the Greenland snow, looking for his father, a world class linguist. The research base was installed by a shady organisation which seeks to find and secure alien evidence on earth – his father worked for them. One year ago, and alien virus infected most of the staff on the base – the virus is sentient, and operates as a hive mind. Most humans have been killed or converted, and only a few survive by the time Philip arrives. Philip becomes infected, and is contacted by a Dr Swanson, who is trapped in another part of the base, but has information on a cure.
Name: Hive Mind
Sex: both
The hive sounds like a group of monks chanting, with the sound drifting in and out of ‘focus’. It communicates telepathically, and this should be reflected in the sound of the voice.
Age: n/a
The hive mind is the collective consciousness of the virus. It is a single organism, instances of which are present in every infected creature. The Tuurngait hive mind is very intelligent, very old, and has a very dim opinion of humans. It believes human beings to be inferior on the basis that, unlike the unified Tuurngait species, the more humans there are, the stupider they become. In large enough numbers they will begin to fight one another, kill one another – an illogical pursuit. They are just intelligent enough to be powerful (dangerous), but not bright enough to control it. They’re clever enough to ask big questions, but not mature enough to answer them.
The hive mind comes into play at the end of the game. It contacts Philip, and destroys Clarence, and forces the player to perform certain tasks, so that the hive can assess him. Eventually, the hive mind will destroy Philip, but first it will allow him to send a message back to the rest of his society.
Approximately Air Time: <3 mins
Usage of voice: Computer game in the horror genre, not very violent rather atmosphere and puzzles as its main elements.
Special information for this particular voice:
We will need to have 3-4 separate voices for this recording, either if there is a group of actors that can do it together or each on his/her own by taking turns. We can for example pass along 1 recording for the others to sync somewhat after.
Actor will not do any of the special editing required for this voice, it's recording only!
