Script Details

***custom demo required***
Aloha. I'm a Palila, a native bird living on Hawaii Island.

My home used to include much more of the island but is now only on Mauna Kea.

Our habitat has been shrinking as non-native sheep munch our main food source, the mamane tree.

As the mamane forest disappears, there is less to eat and nowhere else to live.

By preserving the remaining mamane forests and planting seedlings, the Department of Land and Natural Resources is protecting Hawaii for generations to come.
