Project Main Details

Nuclear Power Voiceover
We are looking for someone to do a short voiceover for a 3 minute setup video piece on the future of nuclear power to be shown in front of an audience during a live event at the World Science Festival:

The video will also appear online in context as part of a video being produced of the live event.

The Festival takes place in NYC June 10-14. It is a 2-year old, exciting new festival that takes science out of the laboratory and into the streets, theaters, museums, parks, and public halls of New York City, making the esoteric understandable and the familiar fascinating. Last year, the festival attracted over 120,000 people, a dozen Nobel laureates, and garnered much positive press.

We are a new, small non-profit with a small budget, so we can only offer low or no payment. However, this is a great opportunity to work for a for a good cause. and to be part of a festival staffed with TV, event, and documentary producers. Also, a great resume builder.

The voice over would need to be completed in the next 2 days if possible.

Script Details

Sample script provided for auditions:

Since the industrial revolution over 200 years ago, fossil fuels, like oil and coal, have powered the planet.

But, today, with unstable oil prices, the rapid development of new economies, and the threat of global warming, nations are racing to develop renewable, ‘green’ energy sources.
In the U.S., the nail in the nuclear coffin came in1979, with the accident at the Three Mile Island power plant. Though there were no reported deaths, public sentiment turned against nuclear power and tighter regulations and diminishing investment followed. Only 104 plants were built. And, in 1986, the meltdown at the Chernobyl in the Ukraine, exposed a million people to radiation. This was the final blow to nuclear power in many other countries.

And in spite of the high cost of investment, nuclear may prove to be a vital part of the solution to the competing demands for energy and climate control the world now faces.
Please note that you should only use the script or your recording of it for auditioning purposes. The script is property, unless otherwise specified, of the voice seeker and it is protected by international copyright laws.
