Script Details
We were all raised on my family’s ranch and grew up working on it. My brothers and sisters couldn’t wait to do something else. I went to college but always knew I’d come back. Some people call me a cowboy, but I know real cowboys. My father is a real cowboy. There are a lot of things I do that just don’t fit with my father’s world.
Working on a ranch I spend a lot of time on horses. Like most of the people I grew up with, we spend a lot of time watching rodeo. When our kids were young, they rode horses. Both kids still ride for fun. My youngest son loves soccer and I’ve actually coached the team the past few years.
I have two types of clothing in my closet: ranch clothes and non-ranch clothes. Ranching is a tough job. I want clothes that are comfortable and durable. But at the end of the day I want to leave work behind. Then I grab something a bit more fashionable and a bit less practical.
One way or another, it seems I’m always wearing jeans. On the ranch, it’s Wrangler. They’re good, tough jeans that just about everyone wears. After work, the Wrangler jeans go in the laundry basket and I grab something else. Not all of the families we socialize with work on a ranch. They have a different style. Sometimes I go for something a little more fashionable, like 20X, if we’re heading out for a night on the town. But when we head to the rodeo on the weekend, it’s back to Wrangler.
