Welcome to **************************************************************************** and *************

Located in the heart of Portland, and easily accessible to Maine’s surrounding counties from I-295, *********************************** is a 90-bed acute hospital dedicated to the Medical, Physical and Cognitive recovery of each and every patient. .

By providing the highest level of care to care to each patient, New England Rehabilitation Hospital has achieved overall hospital accreditation from The Joint Commission as well as program specific certifications. These gold seals of approval assure our patients that New England Rehabilitation Hospital is committed to providing the highest quality care to each patient.

*************************************************************************************************************** differs dramatically from other levels of post acute care such as skilled nursing or sub-acute rehabilitation. Each patient receives a minimum of 3 hours of therapy a minimum of 5 days per week and is under the care of a licensed registered nurse 24 hours per day.

Patients are also seen by their Rehabilitation Doctor at least 3 times per week.

From the moment that you are admitted, everyone is focused on your recovery. You will have a team of clinicians dedicated to the goal of returning you to your highest level of independence. . This interdisciplinary team works together each day you’re here to insure that you have the greatest chance for recovery.

Every day that you are a patient at *********************************** brings you closer to your discharge date. Each day we will work together to help you meet your goals for recovery.

Your day will begin with breakfast, medication and morning activities like grooming and dressing. In developing your daily schedule we take into account what types of therapy you need as well as your current physical level of function. Typically you will have therapy sessions in both the morning and afternoon, with breaks and meals built in to your day. Evenings are reserved for supper, visitation and relaxation.

Our specially trained nursing staff acts as an extension of your therapy team in the evenings and at night, encouraging you to use the skills practiced during the day.

Shortly after your admission, your Case Manager will give you an idea of your anticipated discharge dateis. This information is important in planning each day, and gives both you and your treatment team a timeframe for working toward your goals..

Communication with your Case Manager and your entire interdisciplinary team is crucial to your recovery, so don’t hesitate to speak up! Talk with us, ask us questions.

We’re here to help, and anyone wearing a New England Rehabilitation Hospital name badge can assist you personally, or find an appropriate staff member to meet your needs.

Upon your admission, you received a binder of information. This binder travels with you while you are here, and is a resource guide for you to take with you upon discharge.

The binder contains important information about New England Rehabilitation Hospital. Even more importantly, it will be used by all departments, nursing, therapy and your Rehab Doctor to hold specific educational information about your illness or injury.

The binder will also contain discharge information so everything is at your fingertips.

From the moment you are admitted to *********************************** we are all focused on your discharge. Every nurse, therapist, Rehabilitation Doctor and staff member is dedicated to preparing you for your departure and everything we do will be working towards that goal.

Thank you for choosing *********************************** for your acute rehabilitation needs. SLOGAN….
