Project Main Details
The project is spread out more than a year with 100 videos/scripts total for all 8 DVDs. The recording sessions would probably occur perhaps every 3 months. Compensation is based on each DVD (not each script). The scripts are divided 50% between Male and Female.
For each DVD we would record 2 one hour sessions (or 1 longer 2 hour session if you prefer). We would record 3 or 4 scripts per session with maximum of 8 scripts per DVD (after the next 2 DVDs it will be 5 longer scripts instead of 8 shorter scripts).
Each video script is approx. 4-8 minutes long, talent is the narrator of each "documentary" style video. The scripts are designed for ESL learners, however, the scripts should be read in a natural sounding tone with a BBC stylistic approach.
The video content consists of 100 National Geographic videos - which my publishing client has purchased to use. My client is repurposing these videos with a printed "Reader" Workbook and a separate Audio CD in addition to these video DVDs.
For each session, we would need to sit in over the phone to assure that the pace of the narration would fit to picture and that inflections and correct pronunciations of obscure words are delivered correctly. The talent should also be flexible so that we can have reasonably costed fix sessions if needed if the client would require or something doesn't quite fit to the picture... We can discuss this more.
Ideally, we would like talent close to local metro Boston, MA to keep costs down as much as possible. However we don't mind a phone patch in Continental US, or a phone patch to UK if necessary and cost effective.
If in Boston area we can also record the talent at our studio, otherwise a recording studio of sorts would be necessary and would have to be the Talent's responsibility in the budget.

This is the Sahara Desert … Africa’s dinosaur graveyard. It’s a place of many secrets. Some have been hidden under the sand for hundreds of millions of years. Now, a team of scientists is searching for these secrets. Palaeontologist Dr. Paul Sereno [Sa-RAY-no] and his team are looking for clues. They hope that these clues will lead them to dinosaur bones.
Dr. Sereno first discovered fossils in the Sahara when he was travelling there in 1997. Since then, he’s been carefully planning more visits. But planning this kind of travel isn’t easy. Weather, methods of travel, the team’s safety, and timing are all important issues.
