NEW Broadband Phone Demo Male
LTK14401212048X
This is an interactive web product demo for a new broadband home phone service.

This project is a telecommunications demo for laypeople, but think of it as telling someone how cool this phone is. The eGo is connected to the Internet for broadband access that allows your home phone to have much the same functionality as your wireless phone. You can scroll your voicemails, like on the iPhone. You can search phone numbers by category. You can access information online like sports, news and weather. And you can store you phone numbers right in the handset.

We are looking for a single male performer to provide two voices for the demo, one is the announcer voice and the other is for the Pizza Delivery character.

Announcer: Conversational. Matter of fact. As if speaking to a friend. Not too young, but 24-34. Edgy, but smooth. Think iPhone demos. Adlibbing to make it more natural is preferred. This is a new product, so there should be a certain level of excitement. But not too over the top.

Pizza Guy:
He’s not too character, but clearly differentiated from the User voice. Gruffer, more clipped, quick. His works at Tony’s Pizza but he’s not Italian.

The budget will need to cover recording and production costs, the recording of the two scripts, and licensing for a year.

All the scripts are provided below. PLEASE read script option #2 if only performing one.

USER: Uh-oh, missed a call from Mom. Better see what she needs.

USER: A picnic? I wonder what the weather is like.

So a picnic is out. What should we do instead?

USER: Pizza sounds good—but what’s that place called?

MOTHER: Hi, honey, it’s mom. Your father and I are on our way over. I hope you didn’t forget we’re coming for lunch. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a picnic in the park? See you soon!

MOTHER: Yeah, it just started sprinkling. I’m so glad you called Tony’s, I love their thin crust. Be there soon!

PIZZA GUY: One large pepperoni? That’ll be $11.50, and if it’s not there in 30 minutes or less—it’s half off.

END.

SCRIPT #1

VO: Meet the **********, the next generation home phone. It acts like the Internet because it’s connected to the Internet.

With EMBARQ™ Visual Voicemail you can scroll through your voicemails and choose which ones to save, play or delete.

You get instant access to news, sports, weather and other information.

You can even search, dial and save local phone numbers right where you need them—your handset.

SFX: Phone ringing.

VO: And stop hunting down phone numbers. And start storing them where they make the most sense,—your ***.

It’s the perks of the Internet plus the convenience of a home phone.

Let’s say you miss a call and it goes to voicemail. All you have to do is…

Uh-oh. Mom called. Better see what she wants.

MOTHER: Hi, honey, it’s mom. Your father and I are on our way over. I hope you didn’t forget we’re coming for lunch. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a picnic in the park? See you soon!

VO: Forget? How could I forget? She’s called everyday this week.

Let’s just check the weather here…

Yeah. Looks like rain. We can forget about a picnic now.

Hmmm…mom likes the pizza from that one place. We could do that. But what’s it called?

Tony’s! That’s it. I think they’re pretty fast, too.

SFX: Dial tone, numbers dialing, and phone connection.

PIZZA GUY: This is Tony’s.

VO: Yeah. I’m gonna need a large pepperoni. Delivered.

PIZZA GUY: Phone number?

VO: ************.

PIZZA GUY: 56 Lennox? That’ll be $11.50, and if it’s not there in 30 minutes, I’ll eat my shirt.

VO: Good. That’s taken care of. Maybe I should call mom and let her know.

If she has her heart set on a picnic, maybe we can spread a blanket on the floor in front of the TV.

SFX: The phone dials and begins to send the call through.

MOTHER: Oh, you forgot we were coming.

VO: No, I just wanted you to know that it’s gonna rain. So I ordered Tony’s.

MOTHER: Oh, good. I love their thin crust. And your father’s allergic to grass anyway.

VO: So, that’s it. The *********. You get visual voicemail; news, weather and sports; a local directory; and a personal address book.

It’s as reliable as your home phone and as cool as the Internet.

SFX: Knock at the door.

MOTHER: Yoo-Hoo!

END.
