I'm a proud North Carolina hog farmer... like my parents. Heck, I grew up on this farm. Now, it's mine. Yep, over eighty percent of North Carolina's hog farms are owned and operated by farm families like mine. So, we make caring for the local environment a top priority. Our livestock is our livelihood -- so, we care for our animals, promote well-being - always treating livestock humanely.

North Carolina's pork industry is among the most highly regulated agricultural industries in the state. Each year, the North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources conducts inspections at every hog farm statewide -- ensuring the best practices are securely in place protecting our environment.

Two of the most important things to a hog farmer are livestock and the places we call home – and everyday we are caring for them both.

This message is brought to you by the North Carolina Pork Council.
