Project Main Details

Mrs Wordsworth
This is a prototype for an untitled reading program for children in 2nd grade. The program consists of interactive reading and phonics lessons, and it’s hosted by wonderful animated characters. We are looking for voices for these characters for this prototype.

General note about voice character: Because this is an early reading program we cannot have characters that speak with heavy accents. Diction, articulation and accurate pronunciation is critical, BUT so is a playful sense of character.

Audition Process: There will be 3 rounds of auditions for this character. I will review demos in the first round if custom audition submissions cannot be made.

Script Details

***Character description: Mrs. Wordsworth

This late 30-something wordsmith is disciplined, but also bubbling with spirit and whimsy. She is tough but fair, strategic but spontaneous, fun but firm. She loves games, and the rules to play by. She has a dramatic disposition that flares up when she’s excited about a lesson, making her a leading lady that every student wants to please. Her articulation evokes the Queen’s English (though the accent is virtually undetectable).

“Settle down out there, the bell has rung and it is time to start learning! Learning, learning, learn-ing! Today’s lesson is the ‘i-n-g’ ending. When you see the i-n-g ending on a verb you know that it’s happening NOW. Think about that. See? You’re think-ing. Oh I just love it!”
Please note that you should only use the script or your recording of it for auditioning purposes. The script is property, unless otherwise specified, of the voice seeker and it is protected by international copyright laws.
