Welcome to ********************************** certification course, also known as smoke school certification. The certification process consists of twenty-five consecutive readings of black smoke and twenty-five consecutive readings of white smoke that must be observed with a degree of proficiency and observer positioning as outlined by the test method.

The following conditions must be followed when making your observations.

The sun must be positioned 140 degrees to your back at all times while making observations.

Stand at least three stack heights away from the emission source. This smoke generator stack is fifteen feet tall, so your position must be at least 45 feet away.

If the wind blows the smoke during the test, position yourself where the smoke is going to your left or to your right. This may require you to move during the test. If the smoke is blowing towards you or away from you, your observation accuracy may be reduced as the smoke will appear to have a higher opacity.
