We have long felt that a more in-depth understanding of the emotional drivers of food consumption linked to the shopping experience would provide insights and opportunities to better meet consumer needs. This is the FIRST study to use the Culture Of Food as lens to view the emotional aspects of everyday shopping behavior.

We studied over 15,000 consumers, 28,000 eating occasions and many retailers to determine more effective and innovative shopper marketing approachesto help you increase store loyalty and retail sales. The study is called Occasion Based Marketing.

What is Occasion Based Marketing? It is a new way of thinking based on a new shopping trip.

It is simply a shopping trip that fulfils an everyday eating occasion. It is a shopping trip based on a near term eating occasion or an everyday eating occasion. This trip is different than a pantry loading or a fill-in trip.
