We are producing a short animated fillm about Abraham Lincoln's daily life when he lived at the "Soldiers' Home" in Washington, DC. This was a residence 3 miles north of the city, where he lived during the summer months. He would commute to the White House every morning and evening via horseback.

This film is called "Lincoln's Commute" and it is an illustrated/animated look at some of the sights, sounds, and characters that he would have seen along his daily journey.

One of the places he stops is at a contraband camp, or a camp for escaped slaves. He stands with them while they sing spirituals. One woman "Mary Dines" wrote about this years later. And the text below is she says in voice over.

Mary Dines was a former slave from Maryland, so she would have a mid-Atlantic accent and poor English. She was in her 20's.
The needed recordings range from 5-30 seconds each. I would estimate that the actor we are looking for would be providing no more than 45-60 seconds of text.
