Laser Safety eLearning module for handheld, Raman technology instruments.

Target audience is internal colleagues and partners and external customers.

We are looking for mature talent with eLearning and informational video experience that sounds authoritative and straight-forward and can convey the narration with a clear, believable, and engaging voice.

Script Details

*** Please submit custom audition. 
The purpose of minimizing the amount of sample being scanned is to lessen the impact of an ignition should one occur. The more material that is present, the greater the explosion and subsequent impact from that explosion.

When scanning in vial mode with the instrument resting flat, or when using the Flex Probe on a FirstDefender RMX, reduce a liquid sample to about one milliliter, or approximately 300 milligrams for solid samples –about the equivalent of the size of a pea.

When scanning very small amounts with the device angled upwards, the minimum amount of material required is 300 microliters of liquid (about five drops), or approximately 100 milligrams for solid samples.

These volumes were determined to ensure that sufficient material exists in the vial to reach the level of the instrument’s optics and position the laser’s focal point in the sample material, both when resting flat on a surface and when angled upward.
