Description: A short film being produced documenting the history of Women's Athletics at a local university.
Budget: $300 (film approximately 8-10 minutes, but script includes only intro, bridges and closings).
ReadStyle: Reflective -- Forthright -- An honest intimate confession of truths but, not too slow. Film is interwoven with other existing and new audio pieces to weave together a story. PLEASE, no 'radio DJ' voice. Piece is meant to be sincere, and reflective.

Competitive in EACH of 13 varsity programs,
and UNDISPUTED national champions in three different sports.
This is the story of WOMEN's sports at America's preeminent Catholic institution of
higher education.
Of VICTORIES,
measured in ways OTHER than total points scored,
or teams that have been beaten.
Of tenacity,
perseverance,
and even perhaps,
by the luck of a decision made in the late 1960's for reasons OTHER,
than that of sports and athletes."
BRIDGE 1
Fencing, was the first women's varsity sport at Notre Dame.
Tennis followed by 76,
and basketball soon after.
Going from a club sport to varsity overnight, meant big changes for coaches and
players.

Never easy for these women,
While men's teams enjoyed the luxury of first class transportation and accommodations,
uniforms, equipment and even Fans in the stands,
the Lady Irish scraped for every piece of equipment,
every uniform,
every ride to the next match or game…
and every fan they could convince to show up.

Among the hundreds of stories never told,
never to be known about collegiate women's sports,
is THIS one.
