We are looking for the voice of a senior man to read the part of a veteran from the Korean War.
The vet is recounting the act of heroism of Ralph Johnson, a man he served with who was killed in action. It is present day and the vet is receiving treatment from a nurse in the hospital. The hospital is named in honor of Ralph Johnson.

Ralph Johnson Script
Characters: Female Physical Therapist/Nurse
Jim, patient and veteran who served with Ralph Johnson
Pronunciation: Quan Duc Valley should be pronounced “wan or juan duck valley”
PHYS. THERAPIST: I’ve been a physical therapist at Ralph H. Johnson Veterans Medical Center for a couple of months now. I didn’t have a clue about the man this place is named for; then, I met “Jim.”
PHYS. THERPIST: See, Jim’s one of my patients and a veteran who not only knew Private First Class Ralph Johnson, he served with him in Vietnam. I’ll never forget what Jim told me …
VOICE OF VET: Our patrol was mannin’ an observation post on Hill 146 overlooking the Quan Duc Valley.
VOICE OF VET: It was supposed to be routine duty, just watching over things, but, all-uh sudden, ‘bout 3:00 am, a platoon of North Vietnamese hits us, and hits us bad!
VOICE OF VET: We’s in this three-man fightin’ hole on the perimeter of that hill when a grenade lands right at our feet.
VOICE OF VET: Two of us froze. Not Ralph. He shouts a warning. Then he throws himself down on that grenade. Ralph’s body done took the impact of the explosion. Don’t you know we held the perimeter, drove the enemy back off that hill, too. Sure as a hot sun in July we wouldn’t have made it if it hadn’t been for Ralph Johnson. Yes sir, brother gave up his life for us.
