Looking for a female voice.
LTK6309820792X
Seeking FEMALE auditions for CANADIAN non-union narrator for new series on History Television/Historia. Currently 6 - 1/2 hour episodes with the potential for more in future seasons. Location is optional as long as talent is Canadian. Recording to be arranged as convienent. Please include desired rate in response.

DIRECTOR'S DESCRIPTION:
"The Re-Inventors is a energetic look back and some of the wackiest patents and inventions from the past. Our two hosts will built and test them, will they work. The hosts are young (34) and dynamic with energy and good looks. The narration is not "voice of god", but fun and energetic, like the narrator from myth buster. Although the narrator needs to have a fun feel it must also be able to be serious as some of the narration deals with sensitive issues like death and disasters".

SCRIPT:

NARRATION
History is full of inventors who tried to change the world. But there's a fine line between genius and absurd. Our team digs up patents for long lost inventions and, for the first known time, brings them back to life. Jeremy McPherson is an amateur historian and special effects artist with credits such as X-Men and Chicago. His partner Matt Hunter is a skilled carpenter and backyard inventor. Together, they are the Re-inventors.

A STAMP SHOWS THE TITLE: THE RE-INVENTORS.

NARRATION
Matt and Jeremy want to reach back in time and re-create one of history's most bizarre ideas: a gun helmet designed for trench warfare. They plan to build it from scratch, then test it in the field for the very first time. If it works, it might have changed the course of history.

NARRATION
In order to better understand what they're up against, they first sign up for a crash course in old firearms from gun expert Ward McMillan. At
a local firing range, Matt sends Jeremy into mock battle with a 19th century musket.

JEREMY: So what we're going to do is we're going to do a test of see -- see whether or not you can get this thing packed fast enough to save your life -- and my life.

JEREMY: All right.
MATT: All right.
JEREMY: Go.

NARRATION
It took a 19th century soldier almost half a minute to load his musket, with enemy soldiers approaching fast.

JEREMY: All right, man, and they're running up the field, they're all screaming.
MATT: Aaay.
JEREMY: There's hundreds and hundreds of them.

NARRATION
For Matt, two whole minutes pass before he's finally ready to fire. It's an eternity on the battlefield.

(Matt fires rifle)
MATT: Whew! Oh, right in the gut! Look at that shot!
JEREMY: Oh, my God, you got him.
MATT: Woo-hoo. I filled him.
JEREMY: That was awesome.
MATT: All right.
JEREMY: Did you feel that in your chest or what?
MATT: I felt it somewhere. Holy cow.
JEREMY: Yeah.
MATT: You know what, I was dead ten times over.
JEREMY: Really?
MATT: It's terrifying.

NARRATION
By the dawn of the 20th century, the same era as the gun helmet, muskets had been replaced by fast breech loading rifles like the Ross Mark 11.

MATT: Wow, what a beautiful weapon.
JEREMY: So all you had to do was pull the bolt back and you could push a -- a bullet forward very quickly without having to move your position.

(Jeremy fires rifle)
JEREMY: One. Two.
(Jeremy fires rifle)
MATT: Oh, right in the heart.
JEREMY: Three.

JEREMY: Four. Five.

MATT: You got all five rounds off before I would have had the powder in the other one.
JEREMY: Yeah, I guess I'm pretty good.

NARRATION
Facing deadlier weapons, armies that once stood and fired at each other with muskets now had to dig holes and take cover.

JEREMY: So that's what brought about the use of widespread trench warfare.
MATT: It's amazing how creative you'd get if you were being fired upon in the battlefield.
JEREMY: Well, I'd run and hide. Do you want to have a look at this in the shop?
MATT: Yeah.

NARRATION
It was this new style of trench warfare, and the outbreak of world war one, that gave birth to the unusual idea of the gun helmet. It's an idea that Matt and Jeremy want to build and put to the test.
