NARRATION
A wave of emigration from the 1880s to the start of World War I, saw millions of Europeans travel to the newly emerging countries of Canada and the United States. Drawn by the hope of opportunity, these hardy souls, would face great danger in their travels.

NARRATION
At the time, the only method of getting to North America was by sea: either in large sailing vessels or huge steam ships, like the Titanic. During that era, sea travelers faced many hardships including crowded conditions, lack of supplies and exposure to disease. But by far the greatest danger was shipwreck caused by disastrous weather, or natural hazards like rocky coastal waters
