Project Main Details
As the narrator, we need someone who's speaking WITH the learner -- very conversational and empathetic. Perhaps you have experienced anxiety yourself so you are speaking from a place of experience and wisdom. The tone is really important on this -- don't sound stiff and like you're reading from a script!
The script section I included below will accompany an animation -- think documentary style self-help program. 2011-03-17 11:50:06 GMT 2011-03-21 11:00:00 (GMT -05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada) Yes (click here to learn more about ) Closed 0 0 0 direct invitation(s) have been sent by the voice seeker resulting in 0 audition(s) and/or proposal(s) so far. Imagine two individuals sitting in stop and go traffic at rush hour.
One of them feels trapped, and says things like, “I can’t stand this, I have got to get out here. Why did I ever go this way?” He feels anxiety, anger and frustration.
The other sees the situation as an opportunity to relax, reflect on her day, play a new cd.
She says “I might as well relax and adjust to the pace of traffic” or “I can unwind by doing some deep breathing.”
She feels a sense of calm and acceptance.
In both cases, the situation is exactly the same, but the feelings in response to the situation are vastly different because of each person’s internal monologue, or ‘self-talk’.
The truth is that it’s what we say to ourselves in response to a particular situation that mainly determines our mood and feelings.
In short, each of us is largely responsible for how we feel (barring any physiological determinants such as illness).
This is a profound and very important truth—one that can take time to truly understand. It’s often much easier to blame the way we feel on something or someone else—than take responsibility for our reactions and feelings.
The realization that you are mostly responsible for how you feel is empowering once you fully accept it.
We know this might sound completely impossible to you right now – that’s a normal response!
Throughout this program, we’ll introduce you to a few simple techniques and exercises to help you. You’ll see that it really is possible to understand this automatic self-talk and begin to change the way you think and improve how you feel.
