Project Main Details
We're a small independent film company with a funny little kids movie hopefully for DVD distribution and now we are making a trailer for our web-site.
Looking for a Don Fontaine type of voice - slightly overdone dramatic version of the script.
Should sound a bit like a fairy tale story with a narrator that comes 'out of character' at times to fool around.
Generally looking for deep resonant voice – Don Fontaine style with slight over-dramatization giving idea of ‘fairy tale’ story, which it is obviously not.

Script Details
“This is a heartwarming tale about a boy, his dog, and his stuffed bear.”
(shot of stuffed bear getting run over by lawn mower, and him screaming)
“David’s life is…well…less than perfect.”
(shot of david dressed as a ‘cow’ getting his face shoved in a pie)
(shot of Kelly smiling at him)
“He’s found the girl of his dreams
…but that’s not working out too well either"
(shot of David waving corn dog at her, she walks by disgusted).”
“His family is out of money"
(parents in bedroom telling kids – 'we can’t pay the bills guys')
"meanwhile, an evil land developer wants to buy their farm."
(something happened tonight that is going to push them over the edge)
“And, His sister, may soon be lost to a smooth talking talent agent”
“BUT …David has a secret gift, a weapon to mankind, a hidden talent that makes him a force to be reckoned with…he can sing
[Note to narrator: make the word SING sound cool and tough – also this entire line has a space limitation that must fit into 12 seconds, so from “BUT” to “with” should be spoken briskly and with a sense of coming redemption.]
(shot of david practicing with voice cracking..) “
“But really, seriously, he can actually sing..”
[ fairly briskly on last 4 words]
(shot of david actually singing)
“his grandpa believes in him..[with thankfulness]
( giving him an envelope of money ‘this is the last of my savings')
"and so the world will come to as well…”
[ a sense of triumph, vindication ]
(shot of david being mobbed by fans outside school at the rally with reporter)
[in each of the following up to ‘cute’ – voice tone reflects word being described]
“This tale so full of desperation, passion, intrigue [draw this one out],
and really cute animals [drag out ‘really’, bit of punch on ‘cute’] (shot of animals) it will leave you feeling that the world is just a little better place
if David can do it , [building strength here]
there’s hope for us all…” [ total sense of victory, redemption here ] < Portion of the script provided for audition purposes only >
