Script Details

Please submit a custom demo.
Here’s what you’ll need to play along and make your own balloon rocket. Some string, balloons…Straws and some tape.

Here’s how to make it. First, put the string through the straw.  Then, tie the string to two things, like two chairs, and make sure it’s tight. Now, blow up the balloon and tape it to straw and your rocket is ready.

Ask them what happens when they give the straw a push.

The more air we put in our balloon, the more energy it has to go faster and further. The less air, the slower it goes.

To take the learning further, you can play with a friend and try different sized balloons to explore even more.

Ask how different shapes change the way balloons fly. Long balloons fly faster and round balloons fly slower. By playing with our balloon rocket, we learned about air power, thrust energy and aerodynamics.

For instructions, and more ways to play and learn, go to the link below.
