Script Details

John – WW2 Soldier
30-year old Caucasian male with a Texan accent (not too heavy). Natural delivery. Note: You are a WW2 Soldier.

November 14, 1943: The enemy slipped in for a dawn raid, but got a hot reception.

About 8 am, several Zeros came in and were surely given the old ‘one-two’ in no uncertain terms. Two of them fell - trailing smoke, but the third seemed sure to get away… Suddenly he dived almost straight downward. He had seen a P-38 hot after him.
The P-38 executed a beautiful twist and dive, got on his tail, gave one burst of gunfire, and the Zero exploded in a ball of orange flame and plunged earthward.

The 38 sailed away like a victorious eagle. No movie ever conceived anything approaching that scene for making the hair stand up on your head. Although the air was full of bursting ack-ack and smaller lead, no one got into a foxhole, but all stood and cheered like wild Indians.
