Project Main Details

Into the Gyre Documentary
Documentary about plastic pollution in the Atlantic ocean. Am looking for a middle-aged male to do a serious read. PBS style (though the film is an independent project and extremely low budget). Though I also think of the voice from Deadliest Catch, though not quite so dramatic, but I like his sound.

Am looking for someone to record and send files to me, but if the film gets into festivals and or picked up, would like to use same talent to either come into a NYC post-audio facility, or do an ISDN record. Terms of that second record to be worked out separately.

This vibrant ecosystem is also permeated with something unsightly and harmful – a potentially grave threat to its future. Plastic pollution. We see plastic pollution on our beaches, in our rivers and streams, but it is also present far from land, in the open ocean.

Once plastic enters the ocean, sunlight and waves quickly begin to break it down into smaller and smaller pieces. As it degrades, plastic gives off toxic chemicals, while also acting as a sponge for existing pollutants and contaminants already in the water. Birds, fish and even microscopic plankton eat or interact with plastic, posing unknown dangers to the entire marine food web.
