Their devastating effects leave marks of fear, loneliness and uncertainty.
These sicknesses do not discriminate by age, gender, race or nationality.
Their impact is international, widespread and destroys the lives of innocent children and their families.
Paul Newman envisioned a camp.
A place where very sick children were able to forget that they were patients.
and remember what it’s like to be a kid again.
A place where outward appearances did not matter.
Where tears and grief were replaced with laughter and love.
Where children were never defined by their ailments but celebrated for their individuality.
Where families could reconnect, rebuild and begin their journey of healing.
Amongst the hemlock and sycamores trees of Connecticut, Paul Newman’s vision took shape and he created his first Hole in the Wall Camp and in doing so planted the seeds for a global movement.
Today, Paul Newman’s vision has grown into an international network of camps reaching across the globe.
Hole in The Wall Camps are present wherever children are.
They exist to battle the devastating effects of over 150 different illnesses such as Cancer, Hemophilia, HIV and AIDS.
They bring hope to the children and families that need it the most.
And they are all completely free of charge.
While the locations of these camps are as diverse as the populations they serve,
the benefits they provide to these children are universal.
Through laughter, exploration and friendship, Hole in the Wall Camps rebuild confidence and promote individuality.
Campers are immersed in love and acceptance transforming them from sick patients to strong, thriving kids again.
It’s this newfound confidence that campers take home with them and continue to carry with them long after camp is ended.
Our camps do more than change a child’s summer,
Our camps change lives.
