Narrator: Did you know that there’s a road less travelled that runs right through America? Well there is, and it’s filled with adventure and inspiration. If you know where to look. For example, Nevada’s Pyramid Lake has some epic ancient legends surrounding it. The area is home to the Paiute tribe who believe that evil creatures called water-babies dwell deep in the lake and hunt fisherman. Locals and visitors alike claim to hear the wailing and crying of these serpent like demon babies. The lake is also reportedly home to a stone goddess and a demon bear.

The Bonneville salt flats are an incredibly flat expanse of desert in Utah. THe location has been used for landspeed testing and racing for one hundred years and the first ever land speed record was set there in 1914.

New Mexico is home to some very strange homes including earth ships which are oddly shaped and made of recycled cans and bottles, and a series of, well, spaceship houses.

Wanna see some bats? Head to Austin Texas, and check out the congress avenue bridge at dusk. Home to an estimated 1.5 million bats, it’s the largest urban bat colony in the world.

Time for a pick me up? Sweetie candy company in Cleveland has the largest variety of candies you’ll find with over 400,000 pounds of candy at any given time. Just don’t forget to pack a toothbrush.

If you see smoke coming up from the ground in the abandoned ghost town of Centralia PA don’t be alarmed. There’s a mine fire that’s been burning underground for almost 50 years.

Oh and since you’re already on the east side of the nation be sure to step right up and check out Surapa the painting elephant. Yep, it’s exactly what it sounds like. An elephant, that paints.

And finally that brings us to Boston Massachusetts, where you can step into the 1930’s era Mapparium, a giant glowing stained glass globe that you can actually walk through.

So, where will your next road trip take you?
