Project Main Details

Interactive Farm Game
We are casting for the voice of a expert farm consultant for an interactive game about farming and green house gas emissions for a museum exhibit.

It is important that our farmer sound intelligent, friendly, and polite. We don't want him to sound like a hick or a texan or have a southern accent.

In the game, the visitor will be able to touch a cellphone icon which will trigger videos narrated by the farmer. The videos are about green house gas emissions on farms.

Script Details

Here is a portion of the script:

Farm Consultant: Welcome! Would you look at that soil?! Those are prime farming conditions.

Your job is to reduce emissions AND grow enough crops to make a living.

First, choose the crop you want to grow and then decide how to prepare the soil for a big harvest.

‘Course, the more you grow the more money you’ll make. Thing is, some farm practices release greenhouse gases into the air, messing with the climate.

Keep your yield up and your emissions down. We’ll see how you did at harvest time.

Touch the cell phone to call on me for help. Let’s get started!

Farm Consultant:
Good to hear from you!
There are a few differences between till and no-till farming you need to consider.

One, weeds. Tilling kills weeds, making it easier to plant seeds. No-till fields require more herbicides to get weeds under control.

Two, erosion. No-till fields are less vulnerable to water and wind erosion because they are protected by leaves and stems left by last season’s crop.

And three, emissions. Tilling causes soil microbes to convert carbon stored in the soil to carbon dioxide that’s released into the air.

With no-till fields microbe activity is slowed. So, carbon stored in the soil stays there and out of the atmosphere.

Please note that you should only use the script or your recording of it for auditioning purposes. The script is property, unless otherwise specified, of the voice seeker and it is protected by international copyright laws.
