Script: Before beginning installation, the first thing you need to determine is whether your child seat will be rear facing or forward facing, which is based on your child’s age and weight.

Your child seat must be used in the rear facing mode until your child is at least one year old and 20 pounds. The rear-facing position may be used for children from five to 35 pounds or until the head is one inch from the top of the restraint.

The child seat may be used in the forward facing position once your child is at least one year old and 20 pounds. In the forward facing position, the child may continue to use the restraint until the top of the ears are above the top of the restraint OR the child’s weight exceeds 65 pounds OR the top harness slots fall below the top of the child’s shoulders.
