Project Main Details
Entitled ‘New Day New Standard’, this recording is a creative Spanish/English audio campaign in the written in form of a 'talk show' and is accessible by web and telephone call-in. It is designed to inform domestic workers (nannies, housekeepers, elder caregivers) and their employers about the landmark Domestic Workers' Bill of Rights, a law passed in November 2011. But this is no drab and dry reading of the law. When you call the ‘New Day New Standard’ hotline number, you will hear the sounds of a charismatic radio 'talk show' that seeks to get domestic workers and their employers to understand their rights and comply with the law.
The long term goal of this campaign is to ensure that domestic workers and other invisible workers across the nation are recognized as part of the official workforce.
