The Gun Lake Tribe was historically part of the Three Fires Confederacy alliance of the Pottawatomi, Ottawa and Chippewa and by the late 1700's our ancestors inhabited the Kalamazoo Valley, with our primary village located at the head of the Kalamazoo River. In 1795, Chief Match-E-Be-Nash-She-Wish and the war chiefs of the confederacy signed the Treaty of Greenville; a treaty establishing a boundary between Native American territory and lands open to white settlers.

Our member services department is instrumental in providing members in the areas of education, elders programs, employment assistance and enrollment. The housing department helps with the living needs of the membership with the home improvement program, college housing, down payment and rental assistance. The cultural and language department is charged with preserving our traditions by offering Pottawatomi language classes and cultural teachings.
Please note that you should only use the script or your recording of it for auditioning purposes. The script is property, unless otherwise specified, of the voice seeker and it is protected by international copyright laws.
