These engines feature a cooled, variable geometry turbocharger which eliminates turbo lag and precisely matches engine speed and load demands for optimal performance. These engines are fully integrated through electronic controls to deliver optimal performance, reliability and durability.
Automatic regenerating of the Diesel Particulate Filter (on those engines that require DPF) makes the emissions systems virtually hassle-free. This engine / controls package is able to deliver emission compliance while lowering fuel consumption.
While most lift truck companies put the largest possible displacement engines in their trucks expecting higher levels of productivity, we have found a better way.
Hyster Big Trucks offer high performance and power with “right-sized” engines. We call them “right-sized” because they’re the perfect size for the job, offering reduced fuel consumption and improved engine response. In short, they do more with less.
Hyster intelligent design reduces fuel consumption through performance enhancing features on our products such as…
ECO modes… two selectable operating modes that electronically optimizes the truck’s performance.
eLo mode provides good performance, and optimizes the engine for best fuel economy.
Hi-P mode provides the highest productivity, and is still able to deliver excellent fuel economy.
The Idle Management System is another exclusive feature designed to save fuel without compromising the job. If the engine is idling for a period without any demands from the operator, it will drop rpms and enter into “Hibernate Idle”.
Another cost saving option is the Empty Seat Engine Shutdown, which can be set to shut down the engine a few minutes after the operator leaves the seat. The benefits? Reduced emissions and money savings.
On-demand cooling also adds savings to the bottom line. Unlike most engines, the cooling only runs when required, resulting in less noise and fuel savings.
