Project Main Details

How Beer Becomes Beer Goggles
This should sound like a sexy girl explaining something to her boyfriend. Should not sound condescending, but casual and friendly, natural, maybe a bit flirty. She is a smart sexy girl who knows all about this stuff.

It can be be a little improvised, to sound more natural, as long as the general script is followed.

Seconds after the mug touches your lips, alcohol molecules slide down your throat and into your stomach. From there they enter your duodenum— a section of your small intestine that’s the gateway to your bloodstream and, subsequently, your brain.

Within minutes of your first sip, alcohol molecules pass from your brain’s capillaries (tiny blood vessels) into surrounding cells. Levels of choline, a chemical that helps signals move around your brain, dip.

Alcohol makes you take more risks by suppressing activity in your brain’s frontal cortex, its checks-and-balances system. It also spikes dopamine, a neurotransmitter linked to pleasure and desire. You crave more booze and some booty.

As the drinks are loosening your inhibitions, the alcohol is messing with your occipital lobe, the region of the brain that helps you interpret what your eyes see. Booze also plays tricks on your eyes, hindering your ability to focus on a target, such as a face. This effect, combined with the soft light in many bars, makes it more difficult for you to assess a person’s attractiveness.

Down a few more drinks and your beer goggles are on: Your brain has lost some of its ability to tell if someone’s face is symmetrical—a universal measure of attractiveness—so every woman looks a little bit sexier to you. And because your brain is flooded with dopamine, you seek sexual activity.
